Canada 150 Fund
Canada’s sesquicentennial is a historic moment with the power to bring people and places together as we dream big about our communities and our country. In the spirit of this moment, the Community Fund for Canada’s 150th will activate a breathtaking array of ideas and activities that will bring out the best that Canada has to offer, now and for future generations.

Bob Taylor Memorial Scholarship
Deadline: February 1st

This scholarship is available to Canadian Association of Food Service Professionals (CAFP) student members and Culinary Arts students in NS.

Local Food NS Grants

This grant helps programs that develop and sustain a healthy, local food supply for all Nova Scotians. Local Food NS is part of the Spirit Nova Scotia movement.

John Abbass Sr. Scholarship
Deadline: April 1st (5:00 pm)

This scholarship was established in memory of John Abbass Sr. by CAFE Nova Scotia to promote post secondary business education and is administered by the Family Enterprise Foundation. It is available to CAFE Nova Scotia members or family business owners in Nova Scotia.
Scholarship Amount: $1,500

Yarmouth Area Community Fund Grant
Deadline: March 13th, 2016

This grant is for organizations working on issues affecting those in need in the Yarmouth area.  Applicants must be a registered charity or have a formal partnership with a local charity or municipality to carry out the work supported by this program.

Buddy Daye Scholarship
Deadline: April 30th

The Buddy Daye Scholarship is for African Nova Scotians between 14-24 years of age who are continuing their studies in the upcoming academic year.

Burns Lodge Legacy Scholarship
Deadline: April 30th

The Burns Lodge Legacy Scholarship is for residents of the Halifax Regional Municipality who are pursuing post-secondary educational studies in Atlantic Canada.

Beth Renouf Memorial Scholarship
Deadline: April 30th

This scholarship is available to students of Halifax West High School who plan to attend a post-secondary institution in Atlantic Canada and demonstrate academic excellence and athletic involvement, particularly in minor sports.

Earle and Janet Reid Scholarship
Deadline: April 30th

The Earle and Janet Reid Scholarship is available to parishioners of a United Church of Canada within the HRM.  Applicants must be accepted to or enrolled in a secondary or post-secondary institution and not be in receipt of another scholarship at the time of application.

Donald Lee Eagles Memorial Scholarship
Deadline: April 30th

The Donald Lee Eagles Memorial Scholarship is for students who are enrolled full-time in the Business Administration Program at the Nova Scotia Community College, Kingstec Campus.

Ethel F. Grant Scholarship
Deadline: April 30th

The Ethel F. Grant Scholarship is for students who are enrolled full time in the Nursing Program at Cape Breton University.

Oliver Fund Scholarship
Deadline: April 30th

This scholarship supports graduating students from North Colchester High School accepted to a recognized Canadian post-secondary institution the same year. Applicants may not be in receipt of other major scholarships covering 75% or more of expected tuition.

Robert Sampson Integrity Award
Deadline: April 30th

This Scholarship is available to Grade 12 students at Sir John A. Macdonald High School who plan to continue their studies after graduating and who embody the humanitarian and nurturing qualities of Robert Sampson. Students must be nominated by an SJA teacher to be eligible for this Award.

Stòras na h-Òigridh (Treasures of Youth) Fund
Deadline: May 31st

This Scholarship is available to Nova Scotians between the ages of five and twenty-one who are keen to advance their skills in one or more of the following Gaelic traditions: fiddle, pipes, piano, language, storytelling, song and dance.

Peter & Joan Oliver Memorial Scholarship
Deadline: May 31st

This scholarship is for residents of Shelburne County who have successfully graduated from high school.  Applicants must demonstrate proven artistic ability in at least one of the following areas: dance, literature, music, theatre, traditional arts, and visual arts.  Applicants must be accepted as full-time undergraduates at a fully-accredited college or university with a focus in one of the areas listed above.

Peter Kohler Scholarship
Deadline: December 16th, 2016

Peter Kohler's business acumen and innovative approach to product design have made his company, Kohler Windows, an industry leader in Eastern Canada.  He has created this scholarship to support engineering students in the Maritimes.  To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must be from Atlantic Canada and be enrolled full time in an Engineering Program at an Atlantic Canadian university. The Dream Hughie Award

Talented musicians who are residents of Nova Scotia and who best embody Hugh Douglas Langin's qualities and passion for music are invited to apply for this award.

Loretta Saunders Community Scholarship

A scholarship fund to support indigenous women in their chosen field of study who are attending a post-secondary institution in Mi`kma`aki, Nunatsiavut or Atlantic Canada. This scholarship was established in the memory of Loretta Saunders.

James McGregor Stewart Award

This Award was established by a friend of the James McGregor Stewart Society and donations by The Maple Tree Fund to recognize Nova Scotians living with a disability for their leadership, personal accomplishment or effective advocacy.

This fund was established in memory of Rita Joe by her family to generate scholarships, bursaries, and awards for Mi'kmaw students who have through their own life journey become more connected with their culture and its teachings.
